Background information on the selection process
The Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport initiated a public announcement for the selection of artworks for the digital exhibition of the Council of Europe "Free to Create – Create to be Free" in September/October 2021 in close consultation with the Ministry’s Department for Fine Arts, the Austrian Commission for UNESCO, the Austrian Working Group for Cultural Diversity and the Creative Europe Desk (publication on websites and in newsletters). The curatorial team consisting of cultural policy officers, experts in arts and civil society representatives approved the project by Ms Katrin Ackerl Konstantin "The virtual mapping of Mapping the Unseen" for nomination.
